10-Second Bio: Patricia Osorio-O’Dea

Name: Patricia Osorio-O’Dea
Title: Assistant Director, Academic Planning Unit
Department/Unit: Academic Planning, Programs and Coordination
Location: Franklin, 11th Floor
How long I’ve been with UCOP:  8 years on October 1st
What I do for OP in five words or less:  Supporting the University’s academic planning.
The best part about working for OP:  Getting to work with so many wonderful and talented people.
Something you don’t know about me:  I’m training to run in the Santa Barbara International Marathon in December right now with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program.
One weird fact about the town I grew up in:  Not sure if this falls into the “weird” side, but supposedly, Pinole, CA got its name because an early Spanish settler leading an exploration though Contra Costa  ran out of food and an indigenous village shared their “pinole” with them, meal made of up acorn, seeds and wild grain.  Soldiers named the camp “El Pinole” and that’s how the town got it’s name.
If I could have any job in the world (besides the one I have now), I would be:
A winemaker, or maybe a farmer.
