Sign up now for Jan. 25 Sittingsafe® Injury Prevention class

Did you know that ergonomic training can dramatically reduce lost workdays and workers’ comp costs by teaching employees how to avoid musculoskeletal and repetitive stress injuries in the workplace?

Santa Barbara–based Future Industrial Technologies (FIT) has slashed workplace injuries at United Airlines by 63 percent and reduced workers’ comp costs at the San Jose Mercury News by $750,000 with its Backsafe® and Sittingsafe® programs.

Learn how to combat the stress and strain of sitting at a desk all day when Sittingsafe® comes to OP on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in 8112 Franklin. (Please note that this is a change from the previously announced location, due to a scheduling conflict.)

Class size is limited to 20 people, so sign up today.

The two-hour office ergonomic training program teaches you how to prevent and eliminate life-altering pain and discomfort caused by repetitive activities and sustained postures. You learn how to properly adapt any workstation at work, home or on the road, specific for your own needs.

Through a proprietary training methodology, you will discover why you may have experienced neck, shoulder, back, wrist or eye discomfort and learn techniques to prevent it. Powerful office-based stretches are also taught to relieve existing pain and discomfort.

The training is sponsored by UCOP’s Office of Risk Services. To sign up, go to the UC Learning Center with your UCOP login and password. Search for the class title and click Register next to the class, then Submit.
