Under Barbour's tenure as Cal's director of athletics, UC Berkeley has captured 15 national team championships, 67 individual titles and placed in the top 10 for the annual directors’ cup standings for six consecutive years.

UC announced Jan. 23 that it finalized an agreement with the University Professional and Technical Employees (UPTE) that sets health rates and pension contributions for about 8,700 employees.
