Comments on complaint policy revision due May 3

The deadline for UCOP employees to comment on a revision to University of California Staff Policy 70, Complaint Resolution, is May 3. The revisions are proposed in order to clarify the process for resolving complaints made by employees in the Professional and Support Staff and Managers and Senior Professionals, salary grades I through VII personnel groups.

The revisions are intended to better define the rights and responsibilities of both the employee and the university during the complaint resolution process. New sections, intended to address common issues such as informal resolution and withdrawing a complaint, have also been added to the proposed policy.

The revised policy would replace Personnel Policies for Staff Members 70 (Complaint Resolution), dated March 1, 2000.

You can review the proposed policy online. Employees covered by this policy who wish to provide comments on the proposed revisions may submit them by 5 p.m. Thursday, May 3, to Michael Lum at michael.lum@ucop.edu.
