Join the festivities all day at UCOP’s Holiday Party, Friday, Dec. 14

Don’t miss the holiday festivities on Friday, Dec. 14, the date for UCOP’s progressive and simultaneous 2012 Holiday Party, which will offer great food, a decoration competition and musical entertainment throughout the day.

Festivities will begin with cider and sweets, 8 to 9 a.m. in the Franklin lobby, served by senior leadership. And since the 14th is the date for the customary second Friday breakfast, Kaiser will offer a full breakfast, also hosted by senior leadership. Both locations will have live musical entertainment from the UCOP Singers and UCOP’s newest singing group, Uke-C Ishtory.

Events continue in the Franklin building at 10 a.m., with the traditional holiday decoration contest. As in previous years, all floors are invited to participate in a friendly decorating competition in the Franklin Building. If you are located in another building, please feel free to team up with a department or floor at Franklin to take part. For everyone’s safety, please be sure to follow these safety tips for decorating.

Holiday decoration judging will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, with judges spending time on each floor. The winner gets bragging rights — and a mention with photos in Link.

Then, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., there will be simultaneous parties in three different locations in the Franklin building: Lobby 1 Conference Room, 5320 and the President’s Conference Room on the 12th floor. Each will have a different flavor of food, including freshly carved turkey, finger foods and desserts, all accompanied by live musical entertainment.

New this year will be a Pop-Up Holiday Art Project, sponsored by the Family Resource Network and other staff affinity groups. This is an interactive art project that calls on OP staff to share their own reflections about the university’s motto, Fiat Lux, within the confines of a single post-it note. The finished project will be unveiled on Friday and displayed in the lobby the week following the party.

The holiday party is funded entirely through donations from UCOP managers to show their sincere appreciation for all that you do. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit with your colleagues and celebrate our collective accomplishments.
