Want to get to know 13 people from across the UC system who are changing the world? You don’t even need to leave your desk; just check out the Onward California video series.

  • Learn from a UCSF bioengineer how the transplantable artificial kidney he is developing could free 600,000 people in the U.S. from dialysis.
  • Find out how a UC Santa Barbara engineer is addressing poverty and illiteracy for 1.4 billion people worldwide who live without clean and reliable electricity.
  • Meet the UC Berkeley psychologist studying the childhood brain who says it is the most powerful computer in the universe.

The videos, part of an ongoing effort to help educate people about UC’s contributions to the state, have received thousands of hits, including more than 110,000 views of “The Art & Science of Beer,” featuring Charlie Bamforth, the UC Davis professor known as the “Pope of Foam.” And more than 13,000 views of “The Universal Language is in our Minds,” featuring UC Berkeley linguistics lecturer Patrick Boudreault, who is deaf.

You can find the videos on the Onward California website or on YouTube.
