Coolidge on college Feb. 11: More on financing a college education

If you have questions about paying for your or your child’s college education, Associate Director of Student Financial Support Nancy Coolidge will present another brown bag this Tuesday, Feb. 11, about education tax credits:

Education tax credits and deductions
Tuesday, Feb. 11, 12 to 1 p.m., 9204 Franklin
This session covers how to determine your eligibility for federal education tax credits or federal tax deductions, including how to file for benefits, college savings options and their effects on financial aid eligibility and tax liability. Also covered will be using student loans, parent loans, home mortgages/lines of credit, retirement loans and tuition payment plans to even out the monthly cash outlay.

This brown bag is free of charge and open to UCOP staff, their families and friends. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note: Family members and friends of UCOP employees are welcome to attend with prior clearance arranged through the Franklin building security service.

Coolidge will be presenting two more sessions on financial aid awards and loan repayment tips later this spring, so check Link for updates. The series is sponsored by the OP Staff Assembly.
