New vendor feeding hungry Franklin staff at lunchtime

Have you noticed the aroma of freshly baked pies wafting through the Franklin lobby lately?

A new vendor has taken up temporary residence outside the café entrance, selling savory brioches and single-serving pies with a variety of fillings. Chef Guy Birenbaum of La Fleur de Lyon will be in the building from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays (except for March 5) and Fridays.

Prices range from $5.25 to $9 for pastries with vegetable or meat fillings. For lunch your choice of pie is warmed on the spot and served with a balsamic vinaigrette–dressed green salad. Alternatively you can buy the pies cold and heat them up for dinner when you get home; conventional oven only, please, rather than microwave.

Chef Guy also sells his spécialités en croûte at the Oakland Grand Lake farmers’ market on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is scheduled to be in Franklin through mid-April.
