Are You My Mentor? Next Lean In conversation April 3

Lean In book coverThe Lean In series of facilitated conversations about women’s empowerment in the workplace continues Thursday, April 3, 12 to 1 p.m. in the Laurel Room, 1111 Broadway, 7th floor.

The series is inspired by the book Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead by Sheryl Sandberg, but you don’t need to read the book to participate.

This month’s topic, Are You My Mentor?, is based on Sandberg’s fifth chapter. PACSW members Mary Croughan, Hanh Quach and Jocelyn Banaria will facilitate the conversation. Among the topics for discussion are:

  • How do you have a productive mentor–mentee relationship?
  • What are the differences between a mentor and a sponsor, and why do you want both?
  • How do you find a mentor?

Check the Link calendar for remaining dates for the monthly sessions through October. The series is sponsored by the President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW).

You may register in advance for any or all of the events through the UC Learning Center to assure yourself a spot; just search for Lean In to enroll in the April or any other session.

The Laurel Room is across the street from the Franklin Building at the California Endowment, on the 7th floor of 1111 Broadway. Feel free to bring your lunch and join the conversation.
