Last chance to Lean In this Thursday, Oct. 2: Working Together toward Equality

Join this month’s conversation about empowering women in the workplace. It’s the final session of the 11-month series inspired by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg’s bestseller, Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead.

Lean In book coverThe event will be held 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, in Franklin Lobby 1. It’s open to all men and women in the UCOP community, and you don’t need to read the book to participate.

The conversation, on the topic Working Together toward Equality, will be facilitated by Jocelyn Banaria, Mary Croughan and Lena Zentall. That will be followed by a thank you reception with refreshments, where you are invited to tell your stories about how the series has made a difference for you.

You can register in advance through the UC Learning Center to assure yourself a spot; just search for Lean In to enroll in session 11.

The President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW) has sponsored and facilitated the event each month focusing on the topics raised in different chapters of the book. Check the PACSW Lean In page for notes on previous sessions.

A big thank you to Jocelyn Banaria, Angela Hom and Lena Zentall, who came up with the idea for and organized the series. They were recognized last April with an Innovation and Impact Award in the category of Commitment to OP Culture and Principles for their effort.
