Coolidge on College: Tax Credits and Deductions

The annual series of brown bag workshops on UC undergraduate admission and financing wraps up this month with Paying for College: Education Tax Credits and Deductions, on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, noon to 1 p.m. in 9204 Franklin. (Click link to add to your calendar.)

Associate Director of Student Financial Support Nancy Coolidge, UCOP’s resident expert on college financing, will cover how to determine your eligibility for federal education tax credits or federal tax deductions. This includes how to file for benefits, college savings options and their effects on financial aid eligibility and tax liability. Also covered will be using student loans, parent loans, home mortgages/lines of credit, retirement loans and tuition payment plans to even out the monthly cash outlay.

This brown bag is free of charge and open to UCOP staff, their families and friends. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. (Note: If you have family and friends attending, please make arrangements before their arrival through the Franklin security desk.)

OP Staff Assembly is sponsoring this event; if you have questions, please contact Juliann Martinez at Juliann.Martinez@ucop.edu.
