Movin’ on up at UCOP

The OP Staff Assembly is hosting a new brown bag series, Movin’ On Up, to give employees the opportunity to hear career stories of those who have navigated their way up at UC and learn from the challenges, successes and inspirations of various staff members. The interview series will feature managers at different levels within UCOP. Some have worked at UCOP for more than 20 years while others have entered at one level and moved up the ranks.

The inaugural interview will be with John Fox. Fox began his career right out of college through TOPS (Temporary Office of the President Staffing) and is now executive director of OP local human resources.

The informative program, which will include questions from the audience, will take place on Monday, March 30, 12 to 1 p.m., in 5320 Franklin. Those who can’t attend in person can join by phone or online:

  • Online: http://fuze.me/28076226 (make sure to log into your Fuze account through your local client, not the cloud application)
  • By phone: (408) 610-1042; enter meeting ID 28076226 when prompted

Future interviews are planned every other month. Next up: Cathy O’Sullivan, interim chief of staff to the chief operating officer, on May 26. Other guests will be featured on July 27, Sept. 28 and Dec. 2.

For those of you on Mac computers, you may need to upgrade your OS system if you have an older version. For instance, if you are running your computer on OS 10.7.5, the video will not activate. You can still hear the interview though.
