Get a jump on your Cyber Security Awareness Training for 2017

Cyber Security Awareness Training will be rolled out this Thursday, Dec. 15, for those of you who want to get a jump start on the new year by taking it prior to the winter break. The deadline for completing the training is March 31, 2017.

All employees on payroll with active status, regardless of previous training taken, are required to complete this course annually. New employees must complete it within six weeks of hire. If you have previously taken this course, you will be assigned the refresher version with a due date on the anniversary of your prior completion.

You should receive an email this week specifying which of the following two courses you have been assigned:

Full Cyber Security Awareness training: Requiring approximately 55 minutes to complete, this course will be assigned to all UCOP staff who have not previously taken it.

Refresher Cyber Security Awareness training: If you have previously completed UC’s Cyber Security Awareness training, you will be assigned this refresher version which will take approximately 35 minutes to complete.

Log on to the UC Learning Center (UCLC) to view and take the course you’ve been assigned. Both courses are video-based with interactive components and provide information on threats facing the university and what each of us can do to mitigate them. Each course module focuses on a specific security topic and concludes with three questions to test comprehension.

Protecting our data and information systems is a shared responsibility of us all. This training will help us to continue to develop a strong culture of awareness and defense against cyber risk.
