UCOP Mentorship Program seeking mentees and mentors for 2017-18

The UCOP Mentorship Program is seeking mentees and mentors for its next annual program beginning mid-October 2017 and concluding in mid-June 2018. Mentoring is an exciting opportunity for employees to interact with and learn from experienced UCOP leaders and managers regarding career and professional development, and for managers to contribute to the success of individual staff members.

The goal of the Mentorship Program is to create 25 to 30 mentor–mentee pairings that provide a supportive structure for UCOP employees to cultivate contacts, explore challenges and enhance their effectiveness as they grow both personally and professionally.

Interested in becoming a mentee?
The mentorship program is open to all UCOP staff members (career, contract or represented) from all classifications, as long as they have successfully passed their probationary status (for new employees). If you’re interested in becoming a mentee, download the mentee application from this page and submit the completed form to Talent and Organizational Development Manager Lance Page at Lance.Page@ucop.edu by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14. To ensure others are able to utilize this opportunity, mentees may only participate in the program one time.

Interested in becoming a mentor?
Mentors should have 1-2 hours/month to spend with their mentee and be interested in sharing their knowledge, insights and perspectives about work at UC as well as general career development. You are eligible to be a UCOP mentor if you are classified as a Manager or Senior Professional (MSP) Grade 23 and above or are part of the Senior Management Group (SMG). If you’re interested in being a mentor for the coming year, please email Lance.Page@ucop.edu by Friday, July 28.
