Open Enrollment has begun! Through 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, you can enroll on UCPath — just look for the “UCOP employees” link on the Open Enrollment website.

Highlights of this year’s Open Enrollment include continued low costs, a few important changes (including a new pharmacy benefits administrator for PPO plans) and suggestions for how to manage your costs and stay well. Make sure to read your Open Enrollment booklet and visit the website to learn all about your choices for this year.

Important reminders

If you’re happy with your benefits, Open Enrollment may not feel like a priority. It’s worth your time, though, to take a few important steps:

• Enroll or re-enroll in a flexible spending account (FSA). Your other benefits will continue if you don’t take action, but you must re-enroll each year to continue your FSA.
• Review all of your plan options to make sure you’re still enrolled in the best benefits for you and your family.
• While you’re signed in to UCPath, make sure your personal information is up-to-date and complete.

Finally, it’s a good idea to enroll before the last day of Open Enrollment (Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.), so you can see your changes in UCPath. Just go to Benefits > Benefits Summary and change the date to 1/1/2018 to see your 2018 benefits choices.

Note: The UCPath portal will be offline from Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Sunday, Nov. 26 for system upgrades, so you will be unable to verify your benefits choices during that time period. The portal will be available again at 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27.

Ask UCPath: While signed in to the UCPath portal, click on “Ask UCPath Center” to submit an inquiry, or speak with an associate at 855‐982‐7284 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (PST) Monday – Friday.

Open Enrollment Fair: Oakland’s fair is complete, but UCOP employees working at the UCPath Center still have time to meet benefits vendors, enter a drawing and get a free flu shot (for employees only).
