Oakland Celebration

We hope all Oakland-based staff will join us for our annual celebration. This year we are adding something special to the day, a friendly competition (see below).

As in years past, this event is funded entirely from generous personal donations by UCOP leaders and managers, combining their funds for one large all-staff appreciation event. It’s a great time to mingle with colleagues and UCOP senior leadership. An assortment of afternoon treats will be provided at several locations within the Franklin building.

In the spirit of gratitude, UCOP affinity groups are also engaging with staff to support our community through donation drives and service opportunities. Many of these will extend through November and December.

Keep an eye on upcoming issues of Link for updates and additional information about our 2018 End-of-Year Celebration and related donation events.

Calling all amateur bakers, chefs and foodies: It’s time for a throwdown!

When the weather turns cold, many of us enjoy turning up the heat … in the kitchen. During the 2018 End-of-Year Celebration, Oakland-based UCOP staff who have mad skills in the kitchen may enter their masterpiece in one of a variety of culinary categories.

Winners will be determined by special UCOP judging panels and will receive a picture taken with President Napolitano that will be featured in Link, plus a UCOP logo apron, and bragging rights for at least a year. Stay tuned to Link for details and contest rules to be announced.
