Get ready for the UCOP Chef Throwdown!

When the weather turns cold, many of us enjoy turning up the heat in the kitchen. Why not apply your love of cooking to the first UCOP chef throwdown?

During the 2018 End-of-Year Celebration at the Franklin building on Thursday, Dec. 13, Oakland-based UCOP staff with mad kitchen skills will have the chance to compete in a cooking throwdown. Special UCOP judging panels will sample all entries and honor the winners.

UCOP staff who prefer eating to cooking may sample the entries during the End-of-Year Celebration – first come, first served.

You can enter your homemade masterpiece in any of the following categories:

  • Cookies (bar or drop)
  • Cakes or quick breads
  • Pies
  • Gluten-free sweets
  • Vegan (savory or sweet)
  • Savory sides or appetizers
  • Slow-cooker or one-pot dishes

Category winners will receive:

  • A photo taken with President Napolitano and recognition in a Link article
  • A UCOP-logo apron
  • Bragging rights for a year!

All rules must be followed to be eligible for the contest. Sign up no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, to enter the competition.
