Be a UC advocate

UCLA gymnast Katelyn Ohashi ’19 became a social media sensation after scoring a perfect 10. Now, she gets big points as a UC advocate – and you can, too!

Are you proud of working for UC? Do you want to help ensure that UC has a voice at the legislative table? Join the UC Advocacy Network (UCAN).

What is UCAN?

An incubator of invention and innovation and educator of tomorrow’s workforce, UC is integral to our state’s progress. UCAN is a community of committed UC students, alumni and friends who lend their voices to shape state and federal policies promoting the university’s mission of education, research and public service.

What do UCAN members do?

Thousands strong, these dedicated advocates write letters, send emails and call government officials and policymakers to let them know about the positive impact the university has had on them and others.

These collective actions help shape state and federal policies that advance the university and — through our commitment to education, research and public service — the state, nation and world.
