Film screening: “13th: From Slave to Criminal with One Amendment” Part 2

Black History Month event: Join the BSFO for a screening of Ava DuVernay’s documentary film, “13th: From Slave to Criminal with One Amendment.” Shown in 2 parts on Feb 8 and 12 (both in Franklin Lobby 1 from 12 to 1 p.m.)

DuVernay’s documentary charts the historical context of the 13th Amendment as it relates to the disproportionate number of African American men in the U.S. prison system. As follow up, BSFO will host a panel discussion on mass incarceration from 12 – 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15 in Franklin Lobby 1.
