Mamie’s Rebellion: The Death of Emmett Till

For Black History Month:

Using song, dance and pantomime, Mamie’s Rebellion follows the story of the mother of Emmett Till, Ms. Mamie Elizabeth Till-Mobley and her brave decision to show the world the barbaric crime inflicted on her 14 year old son by two white supremacist men. Mamie’s riveting story had a significant impact on the Civil Rights Movement and is a reflection of the current injustices African Americans face.
