SUMMARY:Communication Skills for Successful Projects
DESCRIPTION:This workshop taught by Raj Kapur focuses on the key skills\, tools\, and behaviors that underlie collaborative communication required for successful project results. You will learn how to analyze a team’s communication competence\, how to build core capability in “dimensional listening\,” and how to frame clear messages\, advocacy\, and communication across cultural and thinking style differences. The workshop also covers communication for virtual and geographically distributed teams by using everything from email to IM to wikis. This helps you select the right vehicle for the communication required. \nHighlights: \n\nUnderstand the domains of communication excellence in a project environment\nBe able to diagnose the team’s communication challenges and strengths using a best-practice framework\nRecognize the appropriate roles in the communication process for each project\nEnsure that the team has established norms for communication\nAssess the expertise needed for effective communications in each project and then hire staff accordingly\nTechniques\, tools\, and skills to communicate for results in project planning\, execution\, and debrief\nSelf-assessment of current skills/practices and identification of personal improvement areas
