Some things you will learn: \n\nDemo of Tableau visualizations built by other Tableau Higher Ed customers\nConnecting to your data\, live connection vs Tableau Data Extract\nCreating Tableau Data Source\, hierarchies\, formatting\, aggregation\nTableau Desktop user interface & terminology\nWorking with dates\, filters\, sorting\, calculations\nCreating Worksheets using line charts\, bar charts\, cross tabs\, heat maps\, tree maps\, word clouds\, scatter plots\, etc.\nUsing the Analytics tab for statistical calculations such as trends\, forecasts\, clusters\, averages\, etc.\nUsing maps: filled maps and plotting points (lat & long)\nCombine Worksheets to create interactive Dashboards\nPublish your Dashboard to Tableau Server and view/interact with it in a web\n\nIn addition\, Tableau Prep empowers you to get to analysis faster by helping you quickly and confidently combine\, shape\, and clean your data. A direct and visual experience makes data prep simple and integration with the Tableau workflow allows for faster speed to insight. \nTarget Audience: \n\nAnalysts or advanced business users who prepare data for themselves or others on their team. Anybody who needs to do some data manipulation to accomplish their analysis. Today they may use a variety of tools including Tableau Desktop or Excel.\n\nTechnical requirements for attendees: \n\nAttendees should have Tableau Desktop and Tableau Prep installed (click the links to download the trial versions).\nThe 14-day trial versions are sufficient\, and the class instructor can extend your trial by 30 days\, if needed.\nTo install: You will need to open a ServiceNow ticket to get “temporary admin rights” so you can install the software:\n\nGo to ServiceNow.
