SUMMARY:FSAP: Let’s Talk about Menopause: Understanding Menopause and Finding Support
DESCRIPTION:Menopause is a transition that about half of the population will experience in their lifetime\, and which impacts nearly all aspects of an individual’s health and wellbeing. Interestingly\, there are only two known mammals that have evolved to survive past their child-bearing years: teethed whales and humans. This unique experience has been receiving more attention in recent years\, but does that translate to folks feeling like they know more about this experience or make it easier to talk about? Perhaps for some\, but not for all. Join us for a 1-hour informational webinar focused on navigating information and resources for all things menopause. \nFrom folks supporting folks\, to individuals preparing\, experiencing\, or transitioning out of menopause\, this time will be dedicated to: \n\nReviewing the basics of the menopausal transition\nExploring the current research on menopausal experiences and the impact of misinformation\nBreaking down available resources for folks who might be:\n\nCurious about menopause\nFeeling isolated in their experiences around menopause\nBalancing physical and/or psychological reactions related to menopause\nNavigating complex post-menopausal experiences\nLooking to learn more about resources for others\n\n\n\nBio: Jessica Allanson\, PhD\, MA\, is a licensed clinical psychologist with the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program at UCSF and runs the FSAP Post-Doctoral Fellowship Program. Dr. Allanson has chosen to specialize in recovery from substance use and workplace burnout\, working primarily with those in high-intensity work settings and with high-achieving populations. She incorporates empirically-validated skill-based learning as well as industrial/organizational psychology strategies into her work with individual clients\, teams\, leaders\, and learners. Dr. Allanson believes in the power of compassionate education and hopes to use her passion for sharing and teaching to support and empower those who are curious.

SUMMARY:Manager & Employee Conversations Pt. 3: Coaching Emotional Regulation Through Feedback
DESCRIPTION:In Manager and Employee Conversations Session 3\, we explore how to provide meaningful\, actionable feedback that supports the development of social-emotional skills. Many managers find it challenging to guide growth in areas like building positive relationships\, navigating emotions\, and strengthening emotional awareness. This session challenges the belief that these skills are fixed\, showing instead that they can be learned and developed over time. Through practical tools\, real-world scenarios\, and concrete strategies\, managers will build confidence in coaching and giving feedback that helps individuals grow. \nPlease note that Manager and Employee Conversations Sessions 1 and 2 are a perquisite to this 3rd course.
