DESCRIPTION:The UC Retirement System (UCRS) Advisory Board develops ideas or new approaches to the provisions of UCRS benefits and communicates them to the president of the university. The UCRS Advisory Board discusses concerns relating to all members\, participants and their beneficiaries. \nThe UCRS Board generally meets three times a year in Oakland at the Office of the President. Meetings generally begin at 10 a.m. and last approximately four hours. It is the general practice of the Advisory Board to conduct its regular business meetings in open session. \nObservers who would like to attend the Advisory Board meetings may do so\, subject to seating capacity limitations. DESCRIPTION:Join your UCOP colleagues and get into the season of giving by volunteering to be on the wait staff of the City of Oakland’s 25th Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for low-income families\, seniors and the homeless on Tuesday\, Nov. 22. \nYou can also help by donating warm coats\, which will be passed out to dinner guests. \nThree volunteer shifts are available to help out with the dinner at the Oakland Marriott Hotel at the corner of Broadway and 11th St.: \n10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.\n11:45 a.m. – 1:45 p.m.\n1:15 – 3:15 p.m. \nParticipants will be asked to meet at the Franklin building security desk 20 minutes prior to a shift. Up to 60 UCOP staff will help set tables and serve food at the event. \nTo volunteer\, please sign up online by the end of the day on Wednesday\, Nov. 16. \nThis community volunteer opportunity is sponsored by the UC Oakland Partnership. President Napolitano has approved up to four hours of paid release time per month for employees to volunteer in UC Oakland Partnership-sponsored events that support Oakland’s government\, nonprofit\, business\, philanthropic and religious communities. Before you sign up\, please check with your supervisor for approval. \nDonate gently used or new coats by Friday\, Nov. 18 by placing them in the large marked containers in the Franklin building lobby by the security desk. The coats will be given to guests at the Thanksgiving dinner. All sizes are needed. \nA few volunteers are needed to help organize the coat drive and also to escort our OP volunteer groups to the Thanksgiving dinner.
