 \nThe destruction of world cultural heritage is an acute problem from the damage done to archaeological sites by the Islamic State and other groups in the Middle East. Last year\, the speaker received a grant from UCOP for ‘At-Risk World Heritage and the Digital Humanities’ to tackle this crisis through cultural preservation. In collaboration with archaeology faculty at UC Berkeley\, Los Angeles\, and Merced\, this project incorporates over 10\,000 years of cultural materials\, architecture\, and landscapes.
