SUMMARY:Excel for Power Users
DESCRIPTION:Pre-registration is required for all classes.\nClasses take place in downtown Oakland.\nLog into UC Learning Center (UCLC) to pre-register and see full class description and location.\n\nMicrosoft Excel’s array of analytic capabilities make it an invaluable problem-solving tool in any context. However\, to use Excel’s most sophisticated features effectively requires more than a knowledge of the application’s formulas and menu options. To take mastery of Excel to the next level requires the ability to apply Excel’s arsenal of analytic tools to derive meaning from the data and arrive at more effective solutions. Excel for Power Users training provides the learner with practical experience using the application’s most powerful features and sophisticated data analysis techniques to develop better solutions faster\, and implement those solutions with a greater understanding of the complex set of factors which affect business outcomes.

SUMMARY:National Denim Day
DESCRIPTION:All UCOP staff is invited to wear denim on this day. The national Denim Day movement was triggered by a 1990s ruling in which the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the justices felt the victim’s jeans were tight and concluded she must have helped her rapist remove her jeans\, thereby implying consent. Wearing jeans on Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against misconceptions around sexual assault. Learn more about this awareness event here. \nStaff members are invited to be photographed in their denim to show their support for victims of sexual violence: \nDate: Wednesday\, April 26\nTime: 12 to 1 p.m.\nLocations: Franklin 5318 and Kaiser 505 \nQuestions about this event? Contact Katya.Nottie@ucop.edu.
