SUMMARY:Manager and Employee Conversations Part 2: Feedback for Employee Accountability
DESCRIPTION:Manager and Employee Conversations Part 2: Feedback for Employee Accountability is part 2 or a 2 part required series for managers. \nThis course helps managers transition from a coaching stance to a more directive approach when performance expectations are not being met. \nWe answer the question: What do I do when my coaching is not improving performance? In this virtual\, live\, and highly interactive workshop\, we will cover: providing productive critical feedback\, managing emotions\, creating efficient documentation\, and holding effective accountability conversations. \nBuilding on the GROW model introduced in Part 1\, managers learn the GROW Plus framework\, which supports clear\, structured accountability conversations when previous feedback and coaching have not resulted in sustained improvement. \nParticipants will learn how to: \n\nRecognize when it is time to shift from coaching and development to accountability conversations\nPrepare for conversations using documentation and performance patterns\nCommunicate expectations clearly while maintaining professionalism and respect\nNavigate emotional responses and keep discussions focused\nIdentify next steps and available resources for ongoing performance management\n\nThis course was previously offered as “GROW Plus: Accountability Conversations.” If you have already completed the earlier version\, you do not need to take the course again. Managers are welcome to attend again to strengthen their confidence and practice applying the framework.

SUMMARY:How Positive Discourse Shapes the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Positive discourse fosters a receptive environment is an incredibly powerful resource and motivator to inspire others to think and act more positively. It is a medium through which we make our intentions\, values\, and beliefs known to others. As leaders\, the language we use can make the difference between a high functioning and positive environment\, to high turnover on teams and disgruntlement. When leaders have a greater awareness of their discourse that is aligned to core values\, they can impact the changes they desire both individually and as a team. This course will explore the science of gratitude\, define discourse and uncover how it affects teams\, identify the language of leadership\, and steps to shift language for a positive team culture.

SUMMARY:UCOP Influencing Without Authority: Leadership as an Individual Contributor
DESCRIPTION:Author and CEO coach Kim Scott says that there are two types of star employees: “superstars” and “rockstars.” While superstars are gunning for promotions\, rockstars are grounding themselves as experts in their roles. How can ICs take ownership of their career growth\, leverage their knowledge and skills\, and make an impact without climbing the ladder? \nIn this workshop we’ll dive into the leadership skills all “rockstars” need to become influential contributors: building trusting workplace relationships\, managing up\, carving out a niche area of expertise\, and connecting the dots from your role to the organizational mission. Attendees will: Gain insight into their unique position of influence within the organization. \nExplore the leadership skills of relationship building\, managing up\, honing expertise\, and aligning work to the organizational mission. Identify one skill they want to strategically focus on for the next month
