DESCRIPTION:UC Celebrates Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) Event – Putting Together the Accessibility Puzzle Pieces  \nWhether you are starting your journey or want to keep up with digital accessibility trends\, the UC GAAD Webinar\, May 16\, 2024\, from 10:00-11:30 AM Pacific Time\, will help you put together the accessibility puzzle. \nEnjoy a short panel on what some of our leaders are doing on their campus. Then\, during a series of lightning talks\, UC staff members will share some practical skills\, talk about the importance of digital accessibility\, and answer your questions. This year’s event will also feature a demonstration of how everyone can have a fun-filled life when technology is accessible. Best of all\, you will have a great time! \nThe UC Community has been estimated at over 2\,535\,409 alumni\, staff\, students\, and faculty. Together\, our work reaches the world with its impact. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that 16% of the world is living with a disability [who.int]. That’s over 1 billion people. \nIf that weren’t enough\, it is projected that 1 in every 3 people will experience either a permanent or temporary disability in the next 10 years. Come and learn how to make our UC digital environments and experiences more accessible. \nIt can’t just be a job for the few to work on; it’s an important part of UC’s equity and inclusion core values.
