Stay informed about UC’s whistleblower hotline and policies
The University of California has a responsibility to conduct its affairs ethically and in compliance with the law.
In support of that responsibility, the university maintains a whistleblower hotline and other mechanisms for reporting improper conduct or activity. This allows any employee to “blow the whistle” on improper activities, such as violations of state or federal laws or activity involving gross misconduct, gross incompetence or gross inefficiency.
If you suspect that the university or a UC employee is engaged in improper activities, there are multiple channels for reporting such activity. There are also policies that protect you from retaliation for making such a report, including your chain of command, Human Resources, Ethics, Compliance and Audit Services or the Whistleblower Hotline.
UC’s whistleblower website provides important information for employees and supervisors about the whistleblower process, related policies, and the multiple means of reporting improper activity in writing, online or by telephone.
To report improper activity, use other avenues listed above or call the UC-wide whistleblower hotline (which is independently operated to help ensure confidentiality) at (800) 403-4744 or follow the links below for more details.
