Racial Profiling in Tobacco Marketing in the Black Community

Black History Month event: Join Valerie Yerger, ND, UCSF Associate Professor of Health Policy in a presentation followed by Q & A. Yerger will provide a historical perspective of the predatory marketing of menthol cigarettes and other flavored tobacco products. She will also discuss the work she and her colleagues have been doing to frame the disproportionate burden of tobacco in the Black community as a social injustice that calls for a tailored approach to policy making.
