Excel Advanced class

Build upon the knowledge gained in the Excel Intermediate course and increase the sophistication of your data reporting outputs. New skills acquired will include advanced formulas and statistical reporting through the use of PivotTables, charts and XML files. The features of this session will allow participants to analyze data more efficiently, and format the data to effectively communicate information to others.

  • Apply advanced functions, including logical, financial, statistical, and database functions
  • Use Data Tables to explore the effects of different input values on a formula
  • Find specific values or determine the cell address of a specific value with lookup functions
  • Find answers fast with Excel’s easy-to-use “what-if” tools, Goal Seek and Solver
  • Implement data validation to control which values are allowed in cells
  • Set up, use, and format PivotTables to analyze complex data sets
  • Present results to stakeholders graphically with PivotCharts, SmartArt graphics, and conditional data bars or icons
  • Use text files, XML files, Microsoft Queries, and Web Queries to import and export spreadsheet data
  • Set up Scenarios to compare options, for example, conservative vs. aggressive budget projections
