Happy Holidays! Office closed Dec. 24, 2011, to Jan. 2, 2012
The Office of the President will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, through Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, except for essential services. OP will reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012; however, Link will be on vacation that day and resume publication the following week on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
Winter and New Year holidays will be observed on Dec. 26, 27, 30 and Jan. 2. During the closure period, there are two working days: Dec. 28 and 29. Employees will be given the option of using accrued vacation, compensatory time off (CTO) or leave without pay (LWOP) for these two days. Mark the option you choose on your timesheet.
If you have not accumulated sufficient vacation time before December to cover the two working days during the closure period, arrangements will be made to allow you to borrow against future vacation time to cover those days.
Each vice president will decide whether there are essential services that must be maintained during this period and will plan for staffing as needed.
Employees represented by CUE who wish to work during the closure should arrange in advance with their supervisor to do so. For questions regarding holiday closure policy or applicable collective bargaining agreements, please contact Jeanie Urban at Jeanie.Urban@ucop.edu or Michael Lum at Michael.Lum@ucop.edu.
