UCLA grad wins Oscar for Best Picture

When the movie “Spotlight” won the Academy Award for Best Picture on Feb. 28, it delivered an Oscar to UCLA School of Law graduate Blye Pagon Faust. The first producing credit for the former entertainment lawyer, “Spotlight” tells the story of how a Boston Globe investigative team brought to light the Catholic Archdiocese’s cover-up of child molestation by priests.

“We would not be here today without the heroic efforts of our reporters,” Faust said in her acceptance speech. “Not only do they effect global change, but they absolutely show us the necessity for investigative journalism.”
