Cesar Chavez Day event: When Mexicans and Filipinos Join Together

In honor of Cesar Chavez Day, all OP staff are invited to a special brown bag event: “When Mexicans and Filipinos Join Together: The Farmworker Movement and Unity in the Making.” This event is co-sponsored by UCOP’s Latino Staff Association (LaSA) and Asian-Pacific Islander Association (APISA).

Belinda Vea will talk with author Patty Enrado about her novel, “A Village in the Fields” about Filipino-American farmworkers in the Central Valley.

Enrado was born in Los Angeles and raised in Terra Bella, Calif. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from UC Davis and a master’s degree from Syracuse University’s creative writing program. She writes about healthcare information technology and lives in El Cerrito with her husband and two children.
