UC Women in Technology: The First Woman Man

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, join the UC Women in Technology Committee for a discussion on the real and imagined responsibilities of being female in the workplace. This one-hour webinar will feature Ann Kovalchick, UC Merced chief information officer.

Kovalchick is associate vice chancellor and chief information officer at the University of California, Merced. As the senior IT leader, her work has focused on building capacity that ensures information technologies support the university mission. With a doctoral degree in instructional design from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in public anthropology from American University, her professional interests include ethnographic methods, human systems design and theories of sense-making. Previously, she served as CIO at Drake University, deputy CIO at Tulane University, and director of academic computing at Ohio University.
