About the UC Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Initiative

The HSI Initiative at UC was launched in 2018, with support from the university’s Division of Academic Affairs and Department of Graduate, Undergraduate and Equity Affairs (GUEA). An HSI institution is one with an undergraduate enrollment comprising at least 25 percent Hispanic students, among other eligibility requirements. The HSI Initiative is aligned with UC’s wider commitment to creating a learning community whose makeup reflects California’s population.

Five of the nine undergraduate UC campuses are federally designated HSIs, one campus is pending designation, and all other campuses will soon follow suit.

This webinar is the first in a series of learning opportunities from the initiative. For more information about the event or the initiative, please contact Arnold Sanchez Ordaz.
