The UC Council of Chief Diversity Officers invites you to a Distinguished Scholars webinar, part of a series featuring UC educators who have made significant contributions to the study of racial inequality through their research, teaching and mentorship.

On April 28, Amani M. Allen, Ph.D., M.P.H., will present her work on the mental and physical health of African-Americans in relationship to gender, socioeconomic position and the stress created by racism.

Professor Allen’s presentation will be followed by an audience Q&A session. The event is open to all members of the UC community and will be recorded.

About the speaker

Amani M. Allen, Ph.D., M.P.H., is a professor of community health sciences and epidemiology at UC Berkeley’s School of Public Health. Her research focuses on race and socioeconomic health disparities and the measurement and study of racism as a social determinant of health. Learn more about Professor Allen.
