Turning Strategy into Enterprise Value: Learnings from UCSF’s Office of Enterprise Strategy & Transformation
Are you looking to bring more clarity and alignment to your projects? Join the UCOP OE Community We’re excited to hear from Cheryl Meliones, Assistant Vice Chancellor of Strategy and Business Transformation at UCSF, about the Office of Enterprise Strategy & Transformation (EST) and their core pillars: Program & Portfolio Management, Change Management, and Business & Technology Transformation. For UCOP staff working to improve processes and lead change across complex systems, this is a chance to learn how another UC organization is making that work more effective and connected to strategy.
Cheryl Meliones leads the Office of Enterprise Strategy & Transformation (EST) at UCSF, where she spent the last 15 months building a business-critical transformation function from the former Enterprise Program Management Office foundation. She aligned EST’s services with the organization’s needs to operate more efficiently as we grow from $13B to $25B. To accomplish this EST created an enterprise change enablement framework, stood up UCSF’s strategic portfolio management capability, and established capabilities within EST to manage these initiatives. She now leads UCSF’s enterprise efficiency program — which focuses on digital lean process efficiencies leveraging AI and automation to achieve the expected value outcomes. Her work defines the next generation of transformation and continuous improvement at one of the nation’s premier academic health enterprises. Prior to UCSF, Cheryl spent 35+ years in global strategy, technology, and business transformation consulting.
