Grooh, who is founder and principal of HGA Personal Care Consultants, will explore “what is an assessment” and how her interdisciplinary team does it. She will draw on her experiences in both the public and private sectors in leading teams of geriatric “aging life” professionals. Their work includes assessment and monitoring, planning and problem solving, education and advocacy, and family caregiver coaching.
Care management is an unregulated profession, Grooh cautions. She will provide guidance on what to look for in a care-taking plan and care-taking professionals.
Grooh holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University (formerly Pacific Graduate School of Psychology) and a master’s from the University of San Francisco. Before starting HGA, she worked as a geriatric coordinator at Marin County Community Mental Health Services.
This talk is sponsored by OP Staff Assembly, with support from the OGC Diversity Committee.
