Register for Making Power Moves: Women & Leadership course

Registration is now open for the workshop series “Making Power Moves: Women & Leadership,” which is sponsored by The President’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (PACSW). Designed specifically for UCOP employees, the course received an enthusiastic response when it was previously offered in 2014 and 2016.

The upcoming series will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on 10 Wednesday evenings, beginning on March 22 and concluding on May 24. All sessions will take place in the Franklin building. (Rooms TBD.)

If you are a high-performing individual who manages people or projects at UCOP and are interested in learning practical skills that will help you manage your working relationships, promote your value in the workplace and advance your career, don’t miss the opportunity to take this course onsite.

The series will be facilitated by Amy Levine, Ed.D., who has been a certified leadership coach, educator and consultant for more than 30 years. Sessions will include a mix of lectures, discussion and interactive exercises on the following topics:

  • Managing and leading effectively
  • Negotiation
  • Organizational politics
  • Managing up
  • Perspectives on advancement from female and male leadership at UC
  • Public speaking
  • Non-defensive communication

Some comments from previous participants in this course:

“I learned a lot about myself and discovered ways I can be more effective at work, in handling challenging situations, in promoting myself and in creating more positive dynamics with everyone I work with.”

“The content is gauged very well to get us to look at our internal attitudes about our own capabilities and then gain confidence and move forward in our careers.”

“I cannot thank you enough for this course! Without exaggeration, your training is the most important professional training I have ever taken. IF ONLY I had taken this 10 years ago… but, when the student is ready, the teacher appears.”

The cost of the series is $550 and space is limited to 24 participants. Please register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/pacsw-presents-making-power-moves-women-leadership-tickets-31168167829

Payment in full is due by March 17 and your space will not be confirmed until your payment is received.
