Join BSFO in celebrating Dr. King
On Monday, Jan. 20, UCOP offices will be closed in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day — a celebration of the life and work of one of America’s most impactful civil rights leaders.
King inspired millions of people around the world, including those in the UC community. In 1964, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 1967 — just one year before his assassination — he addressed a crowd of more than 7,000 people at UC Berkeley’s Sproul Plaza.
To celebrate Dr. King’s life, legacy and connection to UC, join the Black Staff and Faculty Organization for a special lunchtime viewing of the Sproul Plaza speech. All staff are invited to bring their lunch, recognize Dr. King and conversate.
