How UC advocates made a difference in 2023
The UC Advocacy Network (UCAN) is a community of engaged students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends who are dedicated to ensuring the university’s continued excellence. Together, our collective actions help shape state and federal policies that advance the university and — through our commitment to education, research, health care and public service — California, the nation and the world.
This year, UCAN’s accomplishments were many — even in a tough state budget environment and with many competing priorities across all levels of government.
Highlights included:
- A state budget that supports UC students and their academic success
- Fighting to protect federal investments in student financial aid
- Advancing the university’s work to end health care disparities
You can join UCAN in working to support public higher education in 2024.
