A Conversation on Supporting LGBTQIA+ Communities in Higher Education

UCOP Pride encourages all colleagues to attend a special event in UC Berkeley’s Critical Voices in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Program — Living Authentically: A Conversation on Supporting LGBTQIA+ Communities in Higher Education. This event is designed to expose employees, students and the broader educational community to the frameworks, perspectives and expertise of thought leaders and social justice practitioners. Featured speakers include:

  • Reverend Angel Kyodo Williams — author, activist and Zen priest
  • Genny Beemyn, Ph.D. — author, LGBTQ+ educator and director of the Stonewall Center at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst
  • Robyn Henderson-Espinoza, Ph.D. — founder of the Activist Theology Project, author, researcher and LGBTQ+ activist
  • Kevin Nadal, Ph.D. — author, activist, psychology professor and researcher whose work focuses on microaggressions directed at racial/ethnic minorities and LGBTQ+ people

Billy Curtis, director of the Gender Equity Resource Center, will moderate the experience.
