Cesar Chavez Day event: When Mexicans and Filipinos Join Together

In honor of Cesar Chavez Day, all OP staff are invited to a special brown bag event: “When Mexicans and Filipinos Join Together: The Farmworker Movement and Unity in the Making.” This event is co-sponsored by UCOP’s Latino Staff Association (LaSA) and Asian-Pacific Islander Association (APISA).

Belinda Vea will talk with author Patty Enrado about her novel, “A Village in the Fields” about Filipino-American farmworkers in the Central Valley.

Enrado was born in Los Angeles and raised in Terra Bella, Calif. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from UC Davis and a master’s degree from Syracuse University’s Creative Writing Program. She writes about healthcare information technology and lives in El Cerrito with her husband and two children. You can find out more about her and her book at her website: http://www.pattyenrado.com
