Drought and California Agriculture
Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Climate extremes bring challenges and opportunities for increasing resilience in agriculture and communities. This webinar, hosted by the UC Center Sacramento, will share how drought impact assessments can be used to identify systemwide vulnerabilities and downstream effects from water shortages. We’ll discuss the impacts of the recent California droughts along with insights for water management, planning and policy in light of new groundwater regulation and a globalized economy. The conversation will be lead by Dr. Josué Medellín-Azuara, associate professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Merced; associate director, Center for Watershed Science; associate director, UC Agricultural Issues Center.
