Film Panel Discussion: The Social Dilemma

Attend a panel discussion of the documentary film, “The Social Dilemma.” In this film, Silicon Valley insiders reveal how social media is reprogramming civilization by exposing what’s hiding on the other side of your screen.

The panel discussion will feature:

  • Safiya Noble, associate professor of gender studies and African-American studies, UCLA; co-founder and co-director, UCLA Center for Critical Internet Inquiry
  • Gillian Hayes, UCI vice provost for graduate education; dean of the Graduate Division; Robert A. and Barbara L. Kleist professor of informatics; professor of pediatrics and education
  • Bryan Cunningham, UCI Cyber Security Policy & Research Institute executive director
  • Sean Peisert, staff scientist, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (computing sciences research); full adjunct professor of computer science at UC Davis and of health informatics at UC Davis School of Medicine
  • Pegah Parsi, chief privacy officer, UC San Diego
  • Allison Henry, chief information security officer, UC Berkeley
