Stigma-Free UC webinar — The Neglected Addict: Understanding Stigma, Students, and Recovery
Tuesday, July 17, 2018, 11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Join us on Tuesday, July 17 at 11 a.m. for a discussion on the impact of stigma on college and university students who are in recovery from substance abuse — a group that is too often invisible. Ann Cheney, assistant professor in the Department of Social Medicine, Population and Public Health at the UC Riverside School of Medicine, will present research into how stigma shapes the identities of these students and plays out in their use of behavioral health services. Cheney will also share self-care strategies for the staff who provide treatment for students in recovery.
All UC faculty, staff and students are invited to attend this webinar, sponsored by the Systemwide WellBeing Initiative, on Tuesday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. To view the webinar online, go to UCOP.zoom.us/j/5109879443. To join by phone, dial 408-638-0968; Meeting ID: 510 987 9443
