UCOP Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification
This dynamic, interactive training program is designed specifically for UC staff. Through a hands-on group simulation, you’ll explore essential process improvement concepts and methodologies that can be directly applied to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in your daily work. Key Features • Immersive learning experience using the DMAIC model (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) • Practical application of value stream mapping, Lean 5S, and data analysis tools • Real-time implementation of Lean Six Sigma concepts • Tailored examples relevant to UC Office of the President Upon completion of this course, participants will: 1. Understand Lean Six Sigma common language 2. Gain proficiency in applying process improvement tools across various UC settings 3. Develop skills to identify and eliminate “Non-Value Added” activities and “Waste” in university processes 4. Understand the impact of imprecise information on process improvement initiatives 5. Learn to measure and analyze data to uncover opportunities for enhancing UC operations 6. Incorporate “Voice of Customer” principles into improvement projects 7. Acquire hands-on experience with tools such as: o Run Charts and Histograms o Voice of the customer o Value Stream Mapping (VSM) o Future state planning Participants who successfully complete the course will be certified as Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt practitioners, equipped to apply their new skills and tools to drive efficiencies within the UC Office of the President. A certificate will be available at the training and reflected in the LMS. This interactive training includes some physical movement.
