Make Open Enrollment changes now.
Have you made your Open Enrollment changes? If not, don’t wait until the last minute when traffic is typically heavy.
Consider taking some time this week to take action.
If you are currently enrolled in a plan that will have a significant premium increase, you may want to consider enrolling in a different plan with lower premiums. UC offers a wide choice of medical plans including HMOs, PPOs, point-of-service and PPO with health reimbursement account.
For example, 60 percent of current UC Health Net HMO members can avoid a significant premium increase and keep their current providers simply by enrolling in the Health Net Blue & Gold HMO. You’ll have the same great benefits. But you must enroll before November 23 at 5 p.m. to take advantage of the Health Net Blue & Gold HMO.
During Open Enrollment you can also:
- Enroll eligible family members, including your children up to age 26, in your health plans.
- Enroll or re-enroll in the Health Flexible Spending Account (Health FSA) and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DepCare FSA). Even if you are currently enrolled in these plans, you must re-enroll to participate in 2011.
- Enroll in the Legal Plan.
If you have reviewed your 2011 premiums and other options, are satisfied with your current benefit plans and do not plan to enroll or re-enroll in the Health FSA or DepCare FSA, you don’t have to take any Open Enrollment action.
