Former Google executive chairman got it right about UC

With state budget negotiations down to the wire, former Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt has joined us in asking the state to fully fund UC.

In an op-ed in the Sacramento Bee, the UC Berkeley alum pointed out that the university now educates 90,000 more students than it did in the year 2000, but with the same level of state funding.

“You don’t need to be a business executive to realize that is unsustainable,” Schmidt wrote.

We couldn’t agree more. Please share his op-ed with your friends and colleagues, and let them know that they, too, can make a difference for this important institution by joining the UC Advocacy Network.

Fiat Lux!
